Book Release: How I Became a Mermaid

Join us on June 8th for the book release of @yosoy_amanda’s “How I Became a Mermaid” with a guest performance by author of “La Casa de las Maletas” Roxana Calderón and a Q and A by Amaris Castillo.

How I Became a Mermaid is a multimedia performance exploring suicide, death and rebirth, mental health issues, nationalism and belonging. It tells the story of a young author struggling with depression who spontaneously starts to become a mermaid when she is attacked for her beliefs.
