November 24th-Calladita te ves mas Bonita Writing with Rage 

“Calladita te ves mas bonita. You look more beautiful silent.” Womyn writers are often met with resistance when they write about subjects that go against the status quo or express unpopular opinions. Some writers are afraid to write on subjects worried about “lo que dirán.” In many ways, this mutes the writer. Many womyn have been taught that it is best we say less and never mind express their anger. “Calladita te ves mas bonita” is a way of restricting and silencing womyn writers. This workshop dispels the myth that womyn are prettier when they stay silent and that somehow anger makes them ugly. In this workshop, we will look at texts written by womyn writers and release our rage on the page. (This workshop is inclusive of all genders)
