Dormir Soñando: Creative Dream Writing: Dreams are honest mirror of our soul and the key to our inner freedom and personal growth. This workshop is part dream workshop and part dream writing practice. Dreams help us understand ourselves at a deeper level, and they are treasures that birth poems, and stories. We will begin with an understanding of dreams, how to remember our dreams, keep a dream journal and begin a dream writing practice. We will draw from dream stories of other authors as well as the dream work of well know dream teachers. Exercises will be provided to begin your dream writing practice.

About the Facilitator: Annecy Baez is an educator, psychotherapist, and writer, author of My Daughter’s Eyes and Other Stories, a collection of fourteen interrelated stories about young, Dominican girls growing up in the Bronx and winner of the Marmol Prize for first Latina Fiction in 2007. Her poems and short stories have appeared in periodicals, including the anthologies Vinyl Donuts, from the National Book Foundation, as well as Brújula/Compass and Tertuliando/Hanging Out, a bilingual literary anthology published by Hunter Caribbean Studies and Latinarte; “Butterfly Kisses” appeared in Riverine: Anthology of Hudson Valley Writers, edited by Laurence Carr, Codhill Press; and translated in Spanish as “Besos de Mariposas” and appeared in Viajeros del Rocio, edited by Rubén Sánchez Féliz. “The Red Shoes,” was translated by Ruth Herrera and appeared in Spanish as “Tacones Rojos” in Caudal, a literary journal in the Dominican Republic. My story “The Silence of Angels” and my poetry appeared in Callaloo, a literary journal based at Johns Hopkins University. In 2020 here dream story, " and “The Vote” a dream story published in Open Plaza along with a sprinkle of my digital collages. “Sheltering with Late Husband” and “Dominican Cake” have both been published at 4:33 and in 2023, " Time Being "  in Quislaona: A Dominican Fantasy Anthology  – Edited by Zaivy Luke- Aleman, Keller J O’Leary, and Rebecca Walker.
