At a time when immigrant communities are misrepresented, politicized, or erased altogether, who gets to tell our stories? How do we reclaim our own voices in a country that often defines us through stereotypes and incomplete narratives?
This workshop is about challenging erasure through storytelling—using writing to push back against misrepresentation, reclaim our personal histories, and take ownership of how our identities are framed.
Through guided writing exercises, participants will:
-Explore the power of personal storytelling in shaping collective history
-Identify and dismantle dominant narratives that misrepresent their communities
-Experiment with creative storytelling structures that challenge traditional forms
