Details:

The prestigious Fulbright Open Study/Research grant is an award that allows U.S citizens to conduct research in a partner country of your choice. Join former Fulbright recipient Greisy Genao (Anthropology, Dominican Republic, 2018-2019) in a series of grant development workshops to begin your Fulbright application for the October 2023 deadline. We’ll cover everything from brainstorming your research topic to crafting your personal statement, as well as talk to other alumni of the Fulbright program to gather best application practices.

About the Facilitator:

GREI (they/she) is a poet, educator, and filmmaker from Queens, NY with a BA in English Writing and Film Studies from DePauw University. Grei is a recipient of the Posse Foundation scholarship, and a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright U.S Student Researcher award, with which they conducted research on how folklore affects diasporic Dominican cinema. In between poetry shows, freelance writing, and filmmaking, Grei is a curriculum designer, program facilitator, and training specialist with Schools That Can NYC, focusing on creating and implementing culturally responsive pedagogy and socio-emotional learning in the high school classroom as students prepare for postsecondary success.
