Literature, Sisterhood & the Legacy of Las Mariposas
This November, the Dominican Readers Book Club invites you to an evening of literature, creativity, and meaningful conversation as we explore In the Time of the Butterflies: The Graphic Novel, adapted by Salomé Gómez-Upegui and illustrated by Krystal Quiles, based on Julia Alvarez's celebrated novel.
Join us Wednesday, November 22, 2026, at 7 PM ET via Zoom as we reflect on the extraordinary courage of the Mirabal sisters and their enduring legacy of resistance, sacrifice, and the pursuit of freedom.
Through powerful visual storytelling, this graphic novel invites us to revisit one of the most significant chapters in Dominican history and consider why the sisters' stories continue to resonate today.
