Easing the Mind: Anxiety & Storytelling

A 5-Week Health Narrative Workshop Series

Anxiety can feel isolating—but it does not have to be navigated alone. Easing the Mind: Anxiety & Storytelling is a bilingual, trauma-informed workshop series presented by the Dominican Writers Association in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Pavilion.

Facilitated by Dominican poet and educator Aidé Montilla, this hybrid (in-person and virtual) series offers a culturally affirming space for participants to explore anxiety through guided writing, breathwork, and reflective storytelling. Over five weeks, participants will examine how anxiety shows up in the body and daily life, explore cultural and generational narratives around mental health, and develop practical tools for emotional resilience.
