When writers stop before the blank page, is it because they do not know what to say or might it be because they are considering who their words may affect? How will it be received? A sentence softened. A detail removed. A truth delayed just long enough to lose its edge and this, not out of carelessness, but out of consequence. The same thing happens at the stage: a story gets adjusted mid-delivery, a sharp line gets pulled back, a truth rerouted before it lands, an opportunity for impact that never gets a chance to be.
Voice without self-erasure doesn't only happen on the page. It happens every single place we have a voice --in the classroom, the boardroom, the conversation we keep rerouting, the story we've been waiting for the right moment to tell. This workshop is for anyone who has ever had something true to say and found…
