PANEL: "Bearing Witness: Art, Faith, & Activism in times of Resistance"

As we approach the 83rd anniversary of the 1937 Haitian Massacre, the Dominican Writers Association has partnered with Border of Lights, an organization that since 2012 remembers the victims of “El Corte,” while promoting solidarity and understanding between Haitians and Dominicans. During the panel we will look at how art, faith and activism is used to engage and express political sentiment and resilience. The conversation begs the question, how will history remember us?

A medida que nos acercamos al 83 aniversario de la Masacre de Haití de 1937, la Asociación de Escritores Dominicanos se ha asociado con Frontera de Luces, una organización que desde 2012 recuerda a las víctimas de “El Corte”, al tiempo que promueve la solidaridad y el entendimiento entre haitianos y dominicanos. “Testimonio: El arte, la fe y el activismo como actos de resistencia". Durante el panel veremos cómo se usa el arte, la fe y el activismo para involucrar y expresar el sentimiento político y la resiliencia. La conversación plantea la pregunta, ¿cómo nos recordará la historia?
