Sometimes discipline kills the magic—and sometimes play brings it back.This workshop is a reminder that writing doesn’t have to feel like work. Led by Dominican Writers Association, Show Up & Play invites writers to rediscover joy in their creative rituals and learn how to show up for the page with curiosity, not pressure.

Through short, guided exercises and free-writing prompts, participants will experiment with rhythm, image, and sound—writing without judgment, just movement. Together, we’ll ask: What happens when you let your pen wander without worrying where it will land?

You’ll leave with: a handful of new pages, ideas for playful daily writing rituals, and permission to fall in love with your craft again.
