Angela "Angy" Abreu is a Dominican-American mom, writer and community organizer. Angy firmly believes that “if it does not exist then you must create it.” In 2015, feeling dismissed as a Dominican American writer in many literary spaces, she decided to create the Dominican Writers Association. Its mission solely focuses on highlighting content that not only promotes the works of Dominican creative writers but also providing them with the tools and resources necessary for their development. She is a program manager for a college access nonprofit, helping to change the landscape for students of color attending institutions of higher education. Alicia Anabel Santos is a Producer, Playwright, Speaker, Activist, Teaching Artist, Afrolatina Storyteller, Lesbian Writer and Priestess. She was born in Brooklyn and is a proud Dominican Writer. She is the 2018 recipient of the BRIO Award (Bronx Recognizes its Own) in fiction. Alicia is the Founder of the New York City Latina Writers Group which will be celebrating its twelfth year. For seventeen years she has created and nurtured safe spaces for emerging and established writers to nurture their creativity. She has been a guest speaker, traveling to more than thirty universities throughout the United States, lecturing on subjects which intersect identity, religion, sexuality, feminism and social justice. In 2011, she published her memoir, Finding Your Force: A Journey to Love and her one-woman show I WAS BORN was selected as part of the ONE Festival in New York. Peggy Robles-Alvarado

Peggy Robles- Alvarado is Pushcart Prize nominee, a CantoMundo, Academy for Teachers and Home School Fellow and a three- time International Latino Book Award winner. This tenured educator, with M.A.Ed. degrees in elementary and bilingual education and an MFA in Performance Studies, is the author of Conversations with My Skin (2011) and Homage to the Warrior Women (2012). Through Robleswrites Productions, she curated The Abuela Stories Project (2016) and Mujeres, The Magic, The Movement and The Muse (2017). As an initiated priestess in the Lukumi and Palo spiritual systems, this BRIO award winning performance poet uses rhythmic, raw- truth energy to celebrate womanhood and honor cultural rituals. She’s been featured on HBO Habla Women, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, The Black Spirit Solstice Summit, Poets & Writers, and The BADD!ASS Women Festival. Yoseli Castillo

Yoseli Castillo Fuertes was born in the Dominican Republic in 1972 and at 16 migrated to the United States. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Spanish Literature. She is a bilingual-afro-dominican-latina-lesbian poet-activist-teacher-aunt. Since August 2005 she has been organizing the Gay & Lesbian Bohemian Night, an LGBTQ Open Mic in Washington Heights. Her poems and short stories have appeared in various anthologies in New York, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Madrid and Santo Domingo. Sydney Valerio

Sydney Valerio is a writer, mother, teacher, youth leadership coach, professor, poet, and performer. She wrote "Matters", a one-woman show, and performed it at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, the National Black Theatre and Corcho Wine Room. She has been the featured poet as several spoken word events in New York City. Her poetry is published in the anthology Mujeres: the Magic, the Movement & the Muse, in La Galería's print magazine, in the anthology Péinate: Hair Struggles Between Latina Mothers & Daughters and in the New Voices 2018 Anthology. She presented at the 2018 AWP in Tampa. She is a content creator and editor for the Dominican Writers team. She is a student in the MFA in Creative Writing program at City College.
Veronica Santiago Liu

Veronica Santiago Liu is a Hakka-Filipino–Canadian writer, editor, and arts organizer. Her writing, comics, photography, and silkscreen prints have been published in Broken Pencil, Quick Fiction, In/Context, Mom Egg Review, We'll Never Have Paris, and other journals and zines. She has been involved in community arts organizing for 24 years, most recently as founder and general coordinator of the 60-person collective that operates Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria in Washington Heights. The cofounder of the community publisher Fractious Press, Veronica was previously copublisher and coeditor of [SIC] Literary Journal, and a former associate editor at Fiction magazine. For eleven years, she worked at Seven Stories Press, as managing editor then senior editor, and while there she was project manager for a series of comics anthologies edited by Russ Kick called The Graphic Canon.
