Migration is never a single moment-it is an ongoing experience, shaped by memory, displacement, resilience, and the search for belonging. Inspired by The Undocumented Americans by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio and Our Migrant Souls by Hector Tobar, this workshop explores how writing can capture the unfinished, nonlinear nature of migration stories.
Through fragmented storytelling, personal reflection, and guided writing exercises, participants will:
-Explore migration as an ongoing journey rather than a single event
-Experiment with storytelling structures that reflect displacement and identity shifts
-Reclaim personal and collective narratives often erased from mainstream discourse
This workshop is open to all writers - whether you have lived migration firsthand, inherited its stories, or simply seek to write with deeper awareness of movement, home, and belonging.
