Join us for this in-person workshop that draws inspiration from Devin Osorio’s shrine-like paintings, inviting participants to treat storytelling as a sacred ritual. In Washington Heights, we build makeshift altars on street corners and in bodegas—small sanctuaries of love, loss, and community resilience. This workshop honors that tradition, creating a space where our stories become sacred offerings.
Through a series of guided prompts, we’ll explore the objects, memories, and dreams we hold most dear. Like the candles that burn on the block, each word we write will be an act of love—an offering to ourselves, our ancestors, and the future we’re building together.
Open to all levels of writing experience—come as you are, ready to remember and reimagine.
