Lil' Readers Storytime: Me and My Mama
Join us for a joyful morning of storytelling, creativity, and community at Lil' Readers!
Just in time for Mother's Day, this special bilingual storytime features a live reading of Me and My Mama, written by Coretta Scott King Award-winner Carole Boston Weatherford and illustrated by Ashleigh Corrin. Whether it's sliding at the park, building forts together, or wishing on dandelion puffs, every moment with Mama feels magical. With soothing rhyme and vibrant, inclusive illustrations celebrating Black joy and family love, this beautiful book invites children to reflect on the special role their mama plays in their life and all the ways love can be shown.
This program is part of our Lil' Readers Literacy Initiative, which creates community spaces where children and families can access books, celebrate culture, and grow as readers together.
